Viral Video: Saudi Agency Uses Robots to Check on Employees

Saudi social media has been abuzz over footage of a government agency using robots to oversee civil servants while at work.
The video posted on Twitter by a local social media influencer shows employees at the kingdom’s Real Estate Development Fund holding meeting with a telepresence robot.
The device is a screen on wheels that can be used to live-stream video calls.

The footage, which has been seen at least 129 thousand times at the time of publication, has garnered hundreds of responses on Twitter, with some joking that finally Saudi civil servants will work more efficiently under the watch of their “robot bosses”.
“I’ve been trying to meet the head of that department for two months and they keep telling me he is not in the office,” quipped another user.
