BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:10 A.M.) – The Turkish-backed rebel forces in rural Aleppo fired several artillery shells and rockets towards the Nayrab Refugee Camp that has been home to thousands of Palestinians for decades.

According to a local source in Aleppo, the rebel attack resulted in the death of six civilians, with another eleven seriously wounded.

The rebel attack prompted the Russian Air Force to respond with a flurry of airstrikes over the southwestern countryside of Aleppo; this is where the rockets and artillery shells were fired from.

The Nayrab Refugee Camp has a large presence of pro-government Palestinian fighters from the Al-Quds Brigade.

At the start of the war, the Al-Quds Brigade was neutral and did involve themselves in any battles inside of Aleppo.

However, following the rebel attacks on the Handarat Refugee Camp in the northern part of the city, the Al-Quds Brigade began to participate in the conflict on the side of the government.
