BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:20 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) managed to foil a jihadist attack on the northern Hama town of Al-Qasabiyeh on Sunday morning, a source from the military told Al-Masdar News.
Led by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, the jihadist rebels began their attack during the wee hours on Sunday morning; this culminated into a fierce battle that would only last a few hours.
According to the military source, the Syrian Army fended off the jihadist attack, killing and wounding over ten militants in the process, while suffering two casualties of their own at Al-Qasabiyah.
Furthermore, the Syrian military also destroyed two armored vehicles belonging to Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham during this brief battle.
The source added that the jihadist attack was nothing more than an infiltration attempt to ambush their forces inside of Al-Qasabiyah.
