BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:05 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) carried out a new attack in the northwestern countryside of Hama, today, targeting the jihadist positions near their stronghold in Kafr Zita.

According to a military report from the government stronghold of Mhardeh, the Syrian Army heavily shelled northwestern and northern Hama, hitting several sites, including the Turkish observation post area near the town of Tal Toukan.

The report said the actual observation post was not hit; however, the shells did land near the Turkish troops.

Sunday’s attack by the Syrian Army marked the first time that they have targeted a Turkish observation post area since they wounded three Turkish soldiers near the town of Morek.
