Arabiaday.com recently took a visit to Souq Al Wakrah to experience Sea and Sand Park. As a short introduction, I am Zara-Ivani and I’m 12 years old, from Hollywood, California, USA. I’ve lived in Doha for 11 years, so I know Qatar well.
To sum up our visit: I love Sea and Sand Park for its beautiful view, nice food, great games and awesome rides! Sea and Sand Park has a variety of games and rides like horse riding (for big and small children), jet skiing, bouncy castles. If you are a parent, you can sit down and eat by the cafes or hangout by the beautiful beach! Sea and Sand Park attracts a variety of nationalities and is open to anyone who simply wants to have fun.
There are many bouncy castles that are safe for kids, yet fun to play on. A 10 year old boy, Mohammed, talked about his experience at one of the bouncy castles: ”Sea and Sand Park was a really cool experience and I had a lot of fun, the slide was very long and I enjoyed it!”
There is a tall rock-climbing area at the park, that my cousin, Ibraaheem really likes to challenge himself with. The 8-year-old scaled the entire structure by himself. He went on and on about how cool it is that the rocks light up at night! Ibraaheem said “the rock climbing is awesome, and you can race your friends to the top!” Ibraaheem, beat me to the top of the rock-climbing structure this time around, but I’m looking to out-climb him the next time! It was a great experience for both of us.
Sea and Sand Park also has an array of safe trampolines that children can use; what I like the most about the trampoline is how you can jump high and see the beautiful beach with family and friends looking on below.
Camels, ponies and horses are available for everyone to have a ride or take great selfie with. You can go across the beach on a tall and beautiful camel or ride along the path on a big and sturdy horse. The horses are Sea and Sand Park are of a special Arabian breed. Be sure to see them when you’re there. The younger kids can take a ride on the adorable ponies. You’ll want to get pictures as your children enjoy the experience.
There is a huge spinning shark that you must hold on to as it spins and bucks around many times. Consider it like bull-riding, but with a shark instead, since we’re at “Sea and Sand Park” after all! This is a kid’s favorite, especially with boys. You’ll have a good laugh watching the kids get bucked off. But don’t worry, it is very safe so if the child falls, they land on a soft mat and the ride immediately stops. One 12-year-old girl that I caught up with was named Hannah. She really enjoyed this ride saying “me and my brother really enjoyed, and it got us really dizzy at the end’’
Sea and Sand Park has a small bus ride for kids and their parents or guardians; it goes all around the park slowly and you can enjoy the view of the beach, rides and even the cafes. Great for people watching. The park also offers a long train for kids that goes a bit faster than the bus, but both are equally entertaining for both kid and adults.
