BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:35 A.M.) – The Russian Air Force continued their aerial offensive over northwestern Syria on Wednesday, targeting several areas under the control of the jihadist rebels.
Led by their air fleet from the Hmeimim Airbase in Latakia, the Russian jets swarmed several key areas under the control of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, including the jihadist group’s bases in their stronghold of Khan Sheikhoun.
According to a military source in nearby Hama, the Russian Air Force repeatedly bombed Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s bases and Jaysh Al-Izza’s supply route from Khan Sheikhoun to Kafr Zita and Al-Latamnah.
These airstrikes resulted in heavy losses for the jihadist forces, as they were forced to remain idle along the Hama-Idlib axis on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, a source from the Syrian military told Al-Masdar that the militant death total in July has already exceeded all of the previous months.
The source added that the militants had already suffered more than 300 losses in July alone, with a large number of their deaths coming at the hands of the Russian Air Force.
