QatarCSR Network, organisers of Qatar CSR Exhibition and Report, held under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, has announced its latest partner, Vodafone Qatar, as the exclusive telecommunications sponsor.
The annual event represents the largest academic/business forum and the leading academic platform to showcase CSR initiatives, in addition to developing the skills and discovering the capabilities of Qatar University’s students.
The CSR report has garnered a long list of prestigious partners including the Ministry of Foreign affairs, distribution partner to the embassies of Qatar around the world, media partner Qatar Media Corporation, and Qatar Post, the distribution partner within Qatar; in addition to the contribution from ministers, ambassadors, leading figures and other major institutions.
“Vodafone Qatar has always been a CSR leader,” said Khalifa al-Mohannadi, CEO of Qatar CSR Network. “There is a general consensus that this partnership will add value to the exhibition hosted by Qatar University for the third year in parallel with the launching of the 7th National CSR Report with high academic and official representation which aims to enhance students’ capabilities through their involvement in the organisation and preparation of the event.”
Mohamed al-Yami, director of External Affairs, Vodafone Qatar said: “Giving back to the community and creating a positive impact in the society through our various CSR initiatives lies at the heart of our Company.
The CSR Exhibition and Report in particular is aligned to the Qatar National Vision 2030’s target to empower and qualify Qatari youth as a key contributor to Qatar’s sustainable development, so Vodafone Qatar is proud to be the telecommunications partner in support of this valuable initiative.”
The CSR report is an academic research book with rich content highlighting major corporations’ achievements in the field of CSR and supporting their position locally and abroad through a digital archiving system according to the highest professional standards. Its outputs contribute to the consolidation of social responsibility in the Qatari culture and heritage.
The exhibition is a high-level platform that allows organisations to participate in an academic forum hosted by Qatar University in order to enhance students’ awareness of CSR by creating an actual interaction with the public and private sectors and multinational institutions. QatarCSR Network is an academic platform established in 2007 that works in partnership with Qatar University and adopts the national vision to strengthen Qatar’s international standing; a noble mission to provide equitable opportunities for all to participate positively in the society and promote best practices for business.
The network also aims to encourage companies to improve the overall quality of their products, thereby providing them a status of good citizenship and bridging the knowledge gap between companies and CSR programmes.
