BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:50 A.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) terrorist organization has reemerged in central Libya after suffering a devastating defeat in 2017.

Taking advantage of the ongoing battle for Tripoli between the two major powers in Libya, the Islamic State launched a surprise attack on the town of Al-Fuqaha in the central part of the country.

According to reports from central Libya, the Islamic State carried out the attack at night using dozens of fighters that were transported in 13 vehicles.

Once they reached the town, the terrorist group executed two police officers right away and then made their way to the police chief’s house, where they killed him and then burnt down his residency and office.

The Islamic State terrorist would then kidnap a dozen people before retreating from the town.

Following the attack, the Islamic State’s official media wing released several images of their operation, including their fighters executing the police officers.
