Iraqi Armed Forces Began a Large-scale Military Operation Along the Syrian Border to Eliminate Last Remnants of ISIS

BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:25 A.M.) – The Iraqi Armed Forces began a large-scale military operation along the Syrian border this week as part of their efforts to eliminate last remnants of the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) terrorist group.
Backed by Hashd Al-Sha’abi (Popular Mobilization Units), the Iraqi Armed Forces began the operation by attacking several areas with an Islamic State presence in the Al-Anbar, Nineveh, and Salaheddine governorates.
The Iraqi military is using both their ground and air forces to attack these Islamic State hideouts near the Syrian border.
