BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:00 A.M.) – An important commander in the Hurras Al-Deen group was recently assassinated at the town of Taftanaz in the Idlib countryside.

According to reports from opposition activists, the Hurras Al-Deen official in the Hurras Al-Deen group was assassinated on Sunday when his vehicle was targeted by an improvised explosive device in Taftanaz.

The terrorist official was identified as Abu Al-Walid Al-Tunisi, a Tunisian national that has held several roles during the Syrian conflict.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack; however, opposition activists have accused the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) sleeper cells in Idlib for the assassination.

ISIS sleeper cells have often carried out similar attacks in Idlib, which is why groups like Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have conducted several raids of their suspected hideouts.
