BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:20 A.M.) – An important figure in the Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham jihadist group was killed over the weekend after the Syrian Air Force targeted a site he was present at.

According to a military report, the Sharia Chief of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, Al-Mutassem Billah Al-Madani, was killed on Sunday when the Syrian Air Force bombed a militant site near the Idlib provincial border.

Al-Madani is a Saudi national that was considered a close confidant of the jihadist chief,  Abdullah Al-Muhaysni, who is also a Saudi national.

The death of Al-Madani came on the same day that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) took control of the key town of Kafr Naboudeh in the northwestern countryside of Hama.
