A bus carrying 52 pilgrims has crashed in the UAE this morning (Tuesday).

A statement from Abu Dhabi Police said the pilgrims were on their way back from the Holy City of Makkah – after performing Umrah – to Oman, when the bus they were travelling in hit a metal barrier.

The accident happened on Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road. No injuries were reported.

The Director of the Department of Traffic of the Outer Region at Abu Dhabi Traffic Police said that first responders immediately reached the site of the accident to rescue the pilgrims, who have been provided with accommodation, meals and drinks until an alternative transportation is arranged.
