BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:30 A.M.) – A mass grave was uncovered by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) inside Raqqa city on Wednesday, the group’s media wing announced.

According to the SDF, nearly 200 bodies were found inside the unearthed mass grave in the Vanguard Camp of Raqqa city.

The corpses found inside of the mass grave are believed to be the remains of those murdered by the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) during their occupation of Raqqa city.

In a press statement released by the Syrian Arab News Agency, the Director of Health Department in Raqqa, Jamal Issa, said that the mass grave was discovered at the southern entrance of Raqqa city.

Since the Syrian Democratic Forces expelled the Islamic State from Raqqa, the U.S.-backed group has discovered several mass graves in and around the city.
